Remembrance Day…….

Written by AHQ

11 November 2015

This year Remembrance Day marks the 97th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). On this day we pause to remember those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.

In honour of Remembrance Day, members of Aussie Heroes have made signature blocks on which people could write a message of support for our current deployed service personnel.

These blocks will be combined with Aussie Pride blocks and will be made into at least two quilts which will be sent to areas where our serving members are deployed overseas to remind our present day Aussie Heroes that their service and the sacrifice that service asks of them is appreciated.

Most of the blocks below have been signed by Aussie Hero Friends and their families but we also have blocks signed by staff from the ladies from the Kraft Daze Sewing Ladies, the  Coledale Hospital, the Cowra Breakout Association and even the Mayor of Cowra.

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary then nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them

Lest we forget.
