Remembering 911 Lest We Forget.

Written by AHQ

11 September 2014

I was planning to let today slip by without mentioning the September 11 attacks that changed the world for so many of us but then I decided that was wrong. What happened on that day has been responsible for so many of our men and women deploying to the Middle East and has seen countless of them come home changed in one way or another. It is not a day that can or should ever be forgotten and for me personally it is an intensely emotional memory, that day and the days that followed for many months afterwards.  My family and I, my husband and our then little boys were living in Connecticut just a mere 40nm from Ground Zero. It impacted our lives in ways I could never have imagined, who among us could have.

I am not going to write something new. I am just going to link to the post that I wrote last year.  You can find it here.  I hope you will spare a few minutes to read it and then a few more minutes to think about those who lost so much that day and most of all, I hope you will spare some time to give thanks to those who do so much, often at great cost to themselves and their families,  to prevent similar attacks ever happening again and to keep that threat as far from our shores as they can.

I am forever grateful.  LEST WE FORGET.

A normal post will be up later today.

Till then……………..keep spreading the word and happy stitching.

Thank for this post Jan-Maree and for the one you linked to. I hadn't needed to refer to the date today, so I hadn't realised.

Thank you again to all service personnel.

Thinking of all whose lives changed as a result of that event! Lest we forget or worse still become complacent.

Thanks for this one Jan-Maree. I hadn't needed to look at the date, so it has slipped by un-noticed. Thanks for the link to last year's post too. It really does explain the emotion of the day.

    Thanks again all service personnel.
