BLOCK OF THE MONTH
August 2018
FOOTBALL TEAM COLOURS
Many of our Aussie Heroes request quilts that represent the Sports Teams they follow, so this
month I am asking for blocks that will make quilts to meet these Requests.
THANK YOU
for being a part of this project.
We welcome anyone who sews to join us.
Please make blocks using the colours of one of following Teams. It would be great if you could make blocks in both colour ways, as shown, for each Team as together, they will make great quilts.
USE THE LOGO FOR CORRECT COLOUR CHOICES
Fabrics should be 100% cotton and can be plain, tone-on-tone prints or printed with patterns.
The aim is to represent the Team colours and patterned fabrics, that
obviously show the required colour, will also be great.
Please use gender neutral prints as the majority of our Recipients are male.]
There are six Teams to choose from.
THE CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS ARE THE SAME FOR EVERY TEAM
however,
Three Teams have TWO colours and three Teams have THREE COLOURS
The blocks, showing the colour placement for each team are below their Logo
Let’s get started…
Use 1/4 inch seam allowance
DO NOT TRIM BLOCKS when they are finished!
The blocks are designed a little over the size required and ALL are trimmed to various sizes depending on the block layout used for each quilt design.
Irregular edges are not a problem as they’ll be trimmed.
The Rabbitohs Block is used to illustrate cutting and construction
