I am pleased to announce that this year’s Annual Dinner will be held at the Australian Defence Force Academy on 14 October at 1830 for 1900 hours.
The dinner will actually be the highlight of a weekend of activities starting with a tour of ADFA for interested participants on the afternoon of the Friday. Time to be confirmed but probably around 1400-1430 hours.
I am looking into the possibility of another activity on the morning of the Saturday, details to follow when plans are confirmed.
The dinner will obviously occupy the Saturday night and the weekend will conclude with a repeat of last year’s very successful breakfast at Poppy’s Cafe at the Australian War Memorial on Sunday morning.
As usual, all the quilters and laundry bag makers who attend the dinner will be asked to bring along a laundry bag to be distributed among the ADFA staff as seen fit by the Commandant, BRIG Cheryl Pearce, who just happens to be a recipient herself.
So folks, start making your plans to be in Canberra in October this year.
Til next time… keep spreading the word, happy stitching and make those travel arrangements.
Sounds wonderful for whoever can go.
