Weekly Dispatches 30 October 15

30 October 2015

Gosh, October is almost over and that means only two months of the year to go!  I am sure I am not the only one who things that time is just going by faster each year.

Lots of great quilts to look at tonight.

Enjoy the show.

1351 quilts and 1863 laundry bags for 2015.

4933 quilts and  7320 laundry bags in total.

This is the last of the quilts made using the signature blocks we collected when we were at the Australasian Quilt Convention in April this year. People wrote messages for the troops on the blocks and then various people put them together into quilts, this one being completed by Clare D.  These quilts have been sent to all sorts of places from Afghanistan to Iraq to South Sudan and Al Minhad Air Base and will hang in communal areas for all to enjoy.   They have all been really well received and have taken pride of place. This one is on its way to South Sudan to hang in the Dining Room in Australia House in Juba, where our Aussie Peacekeepers are.

Anne H made this quilt top and Anna N added a few personal details and finished it off.

Cecily used some BOMs to create this quilt top
