29 January 2016

G’day all.

Well it has certainly been one very special week as most of you would know.

Today brought another surprise.

It is not every day that you receive a letter from the Premier of New South Wales.

To top off a great week we have just crossed over another mile stone…

over 8000 laundry bags….

So far for 2016 we have sent off 185 laundry bags

which brings us to a total of  8002 since we started...

and…

We have also sent 93 quilts

bringing our total since we started to over 5356 quilts

Just a note about this one, made by me. This laundry bag features the Torres Strait Islander flag.   I sought and received permission to reproduce the flag on our laundry bags and quilts, making a special effort to match the colours as closely as possible.

This special quilt will be heading off to hang in a quiet space that the chaplain will use for counselling and other purposes with the Air Task Group. It will hang on the wall of the converted container to add some colour and warmth.   I could not think of a better use for one of our quilts.
