Hello to all you wonderful talented people!

I have to say, that the Aussie Hero Quilts Dinner was a wonderful success !

It was fantastic to meet the people behind the spectacular creations that turn up in photos every week.

The Officers Mess was a wonder of colour and interest with the quilts and laundry bags adorning every available space.

All defence people dressed beautifully in their uniforms to meet and greet you “Sewers” who give so much.

It was very evident that the creative gifts from a perfect stranger to a deployed recipient is a precious and wonderful thing to be treasured. There were many people swapping stories and a great deal of hugging going on all evening. For those of you who sew and couldn’t make it to Canberra last weekend, I can only describe the response from the recipients as overwhelming

So far for 2017 we have sent off 1417 quilts

bringing our total since we started to over 8,060 quilts

&

2757 laundry bags for the year

Which brings us to a total of 15,814 since we started…
