I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful laundry bag you have made for me. Also, I would like to thank you for the time you spend making laundry bags for other deployed Defence people. Things like the laundry bags and quilts, you and others make for us mean a great deal to us.
I guess I am not much like some of the others you may have made laundry bags for. I am now a Squadron Leader in the RAAF after changing over from being a Major in the Army last year. I am a Logistics guy so the transition wasn’t too bad. I have been serving now for a bit over 37 years. I wasn’t always an officer. I started my Defence journey as an Apprentice Fitter and Turner in 1988.
In my current position, I am the Air Operations and Training Officer (AOTO) for the Joint Australian Training Team – Philippines (JATT-P). All this means is I am the RAAF liaison guy here and your wonderful laundry bag will always remind me of my time here in the Philippines.
I am married and have three children. My son is a Doctor working in Royal Brisbane. One of my daughter’s is an APS 6, working for Services Australia, and my youngest daughter is a Lawyer who works for QLD Police.
Congratulations on your own chilren. I have no doubt you are very proud of your boys for the men they have and are growing into. That looks like a great rig you use to tow your Caravan around the place with. I imagine there is not much that stops you from going wherever you want to go.
Thanks again for the wonderful laundry bag. Here is a photo of me using the bag. I certainly appreciate the effort you go to.

Ruth S,
Thank you so much for the beautiful laundry bag, the colours are absolutely perfect, it brought a big smile to my face, I straight away threw out my mesh bag I was using! I really appreciate the time, care, and creativity you put into making it. Knowing the story behind your inspiration makes it even more meaningful.
Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and for supporting us in such a personal and generous way. It means a lot.
Cheers,
Ps, I attached a photo of it already with clothes ready to wash. Didn’t take long

Hi Pennie T,
Thank you so much for the Laundry Bag I received whilst here at AMAB, UAE. I absolutely love the bag, you hit the nail on the head. I’m glad we got the Patriots Australia patch on there in the end!!
Oh wow, what a small world. Not only is your Son in Law involved with Submarines, but I grew up only a few suburbs over from Old Reynella in Morphett Vale. I still have some family over in SA but I don’t get over there much anymore due to having my own family in WA. And yes, I am indeed seconded to the Submarine Squadron. I qualified as a RAN Submariner in Sep 2020 and have done tours on both HMAS Collins and Farncomb prior to this deployment to the Middle East. I’ll be headed back to Submarine world once I return to Australia.
Thank you so much again, this bag will definitely get a work out on this tour and the many other deployments it’ll come along with me on.
Kind Regards,

Good afternoon Ruth S,
I am delighted to email you with huge thanks for my gorgeous laundry bag.I was deployed from Aug – Dec 2024 and it was a very difficult time for me. The joy of receiving a laundry bag, designed with colours and pictures I love, was absolutely amazing. It brought a huge smile to my face and continues to, as I use it often. I was blown away that you were able to find snoopy fabric – this meant the world to me 🙂Thank you again for taking the time to make deployed members feel special and seen, whilst they’re away from home and their loved ones. What you do is so special and we are very grateful for your kindness.Warmest regards,
