Happy Mothers Day to all the awesome Mums wherever they are!
Once a year we tell our mums how much we really care
We take the time to tell them how glad we are they’re there
We might buy flowers, or wrap a gift and often write a card
Just tiny gestures to say thank you for the hours they’ve worked so hard
To feed us, clothe us, nurture us, to give us what we need
They give up so much and toil each day to make sure we succeed
But let’s not forget the special mums in uniform who serve
As duty calls and they will miss the spoiling they deserve
Mums with children, young and old, they will have to spend today
Working hard, wearing uniforms of blue or green or grey
They won’t get to hold that little hand or receive that hug or kiss
Another special family day that they will have to miss
So let’s shout out to ALL the mums both at home and far away
Tell them they are appreciated on this their special day.
