Today I had a visit from Pam who works during the week but said she would love to get together to sew if I had a weekend sewing day.  Currently she has one son in the RAAF and one hoping to join.  Well, my lovely husband is away and with long weekend looming I decided that was too good an offer to pass up.

Pam had been given a whole bolt of fabric by Jeff from Penrith Patchwork so I suggested that she come over and bring her fabric with her and we would whip up a quilt top that she could take back and show him.  Turns out we got two done.

For the first one Pam wanted to use one of the fabulous Flag Panels she had received from the generous Kathy from Tassie.  Check out the bottom of this post – she may or may not have more left.
For the second one we used some of the leftover nine patch BOMs that I have been slowly adding too couple with some more of this lovely green fabric.

Just take note of that lovely green fabric – if you haven’t already worked it out that is the bolt of fabric that Jeff gave Pam!  Isn’t it a gorgeous colours and a great Aussie Print.  And while we are on the subject of the Generous Jeff he sent along a 20% off card which I am allowed to photo copy and pass on to anyone who is likely to go to Penrith – all you have to say is it is for the SOLDIERS.  Thanks so much JEFF!!!!
If you need a copy of the card let me know!

Whilst Pam and I were sewing Diane popped in to deliver the 16  laundry bags that she has been sewing up for me.

She has left me with instructions to cut some more out and drop them in  to her so she can sew more.  Will do Diane – I think I need to clone myself!

This is one of the laundry bags.  Great re purpose of some donated doona cover fabric – never been used and not likely to be used for much either.  Makes a great laundry bag….for a girl of course!
All in all I would call that a pretty productive day wouldn’t you?

Till next time………………keep spreading the word and happy stitching.
