Happy Tuesday Friends!
Well the weeks are just flying by. Its going to be the end of the year before we know it but first we have the fun of the Aussie Hero Thank You weekend. Only 103 sleeps away until the dinner. Always a highlight of my year!
We have another lot of beautiful messages from far and wide and some awesome images, so grab a cuppa, sit back and relax while you soak up some well deserved gratitude.

Hello Sue N
I hope you are well. I am the wife of a Defence member and he was recently away for a long time – solo 7 months with two small girls is resume worthy I feel!
I received your package whilst my husband was away but we delayed opening it until hubby got home so that he could enjoy seeing all the hard work and craftsmanship himself.
I have attached a photo, typically not everyone was smiling at the one time!
Our eldest (3.5) had a cactus theme for her room as a baby and our youngest (almost 2) had dandelions and hubby did well to remember this and have them beautifully represented on this quilt by yourself.
It is something we will treasure for a long time and will hold memories of lots of cool morning and nights snuggled in reading books.
Thank you again

Good Morning Ruth S,
I would first like to say Thank you!, the laundry bag turned out more amazing than I could have imagined.
You are 100% correct on the impact the quilts and laundry bags have on deployed members, they become a source of pride when we are looking at them.
So, you are probably wondering when you got the request why is an Air Force member asking for a Tri-Service quilt haha.
Well my story has been an interesting one. I have been in the Military for 16 years now, joined when I was 18 and have never looked back. I started my career in the Army and spent 15 great years in the green reaching the rank of WO2. During that time I was fortunate enough to get posted to Navy ships for 4 years. Recently, only about 12 months ago, I decided whilst I’m still mildly young (15 years in the Army the body doesn’t feel young), I should trying something new and different, try a new direction in my ADF career. So about 8 months ago I transferred to the Air Force.
Well now you know how my crazy tri-service idea came about. I couldn’t have asked for a better laundry bag design!, once again thank you so much!.
Kind Regards,
…
Good Evening Pennie T.
I am writing to say thank you for the quilt you made me. I love the quilt and are very grateful for it. I would also like to thank you for the time and effort you put into it.
Thank You
…
Hey Hilary P,
I just want to say thank you for the letter you wrote and I absolutely love the quilt.
I am a big gamer and it has kept me warm through some long gaming sessions.
My favourite episode is Episode III Revenge of the Sith however I was brought up watching the originals first with Episode IV A New Hope being my first ever introduction to Star Wars and have been hooked ever since.
I have attached a picture of the quilt on my bed.
My favourite Sith is Darth Vader & my Favourite Jedi is Yoda 🙂
Thank you again for the letter and the quilt and I hope you are doing well
Kindest Regards,
Hey Anna C,
First and foremost, thank you so much for the care and effort you put into making my Quilt! You actually lucked out on timing as I got it the day after we got back from Deployment so it didn’t get lost in the Fleet Mail system which can be a bit slow at times. So in saying that, your “lateness” actually worked in both of our favours and you’re very much forgiven!
It’s awesome you have been playing WoW since Vanilla, I remember how hard it gripped me when I first started all those years ago and it seems I keep coming back every couple of years before getting bored again. I’m normally hardcore into raiding and end up just raid-logging and arena-logging 2-3 characters so I burn myself out quite quickly, and now I have a little one I can’t dedicate the same amount of hours haha.
I’ve had a checkers of your Facey and love that you used Icecrown as the location, I don’t know what I’d say my favourite location is, but I know I’ve spent too long in all of them lol.
Reading about your family and your interests in geeky stuff was also a good read! My wife is a certified book nerd and I’m the gamer of the family. We have a doggo called Quinn (League of Legends) and while our son is only 3, time will tell which way he will go. I just hope it’s the gaming path…I could retire on one of his Fortnite tournament wins for sure! oh and I also absolutely agree with you that anyone can cosplay as anything they want to! If I had the time I’d print and wire up a Master Chief / Iron Man suit, but knowing my ADHD tendencies I’d get distracted 1/4 of the way through haha.
Well in the interest of not banging out an epic e-mail, I’ll leave you with a final thanks. Thanks again, and if I am looking for any nerdy quilts in the future I’ll be sure to hit you up!
Cheers

Afternoon Shirley D,
I have received my laundry bag and absolutely love it. Thank you for your efforts and I will be putting it to good use, I also enjoyed hearing about you and your fathers service. You should be very proud to have won the people’s choice award!

Good Evening Deirdre B-L,
I just wanted to say I received the blue and pink baby inspired quilt yesterday and my husband and I absolutely love it and we think it is perfect for when we have a baby. He also loved the duplo Lego you added in there with the note. Sadly we aren’t pregnant yet but our fur baby is appreciating it tonight
Thank you again we absolutely love it and the laundry bag

Dear Laura C,
Thank you so much for my laundry bag it is absolutely perfect, you did such an amazing job and I love the fabric! I love the beach/coast and surfing. I grew up in a little coastal town in NSW and this bag reminds me so much of home and what I love.
The Zooinverse thing sounds so interesting, I’m sure there was no surfing penguins hahahah
It’s something that means so much to us and all of us get so excited when our bags/quits arrive you have no idea!
We usually deploy for around 3 months at a time and although at times it can be hard it is also so rewarding at the same time and you truly do see some of the most untouched and beautiful places in the world as I can imagine you would flying!
That sounds so lovely taking your grandchildren camping! I know I loved camping as a kid and still do so I’m sure it’s so special to them. My siblings live near Port Stephen’s, it’s also such a lovely place in Australia. Also forgot to mention I have been to Williams creek camping as a kid and went in the little plane to see the lake and the painted desert. Such a cute little town out there!
Thanks again for my bag I really do love it and am blown away with how detailed it is. Thank you so much for what you do for us like I said before it really mean a lot and brightens our days on the those though weeks away.
Regards,
…
Until next week keep your letters, emails and photos coming in.
Tuesday’s would be so totally boring without them!
