Happy Tuesday Friends!
Hello from Geelong! Finally took some leave so my grandson could finally meet his great grandfather. Weather hasn’t been too great but we are braving it to do some exploring. Off to Melbourne today on the train for a trip to the zoo. Hopefully they will let me out at the end of the day. LOL
We have a few messages and photos this week so grab a cuppa, sit back and relax while you soak up some well-deserved gratitude!
AHQ Thank You Dinner is only 137 sleeps!

Good afternoon Jan-Maree,
It certainly took a bit of time but the beautiful quilt that you (Lois S) made for an Army veteran was presented to him recently. He absolutely LOVED it and I know this, not just because he said he loved it, but because he was almost in tears when he received it/opened it.
His Mum and Aunt just happened to be in town when it was presented, and they were almost in tears too. It was so lovely that they were there.
Cath Hpr,
I should have known that Jan-Maree and our wonderful volunteers (you) would be scheming something for my meeting with JM last week. I was totally surprised and like many of our recipients, just a touch emotional.
I do luv my laundry bag because it’s mine and because it says so much about me. The pink pigs make sense and I quite like the pink accents and embroidery … but a pink F-111? Really?
Thank you for sharing your puppy history, we feel the same about our Roxie; she just turned 5.
I don’t do FB but my wife has shown me the photo of my LB presentation. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Board of AHQ’s but like any positive organisation we need to refresh energy and ideas through a succession plan. 6 years was about right for me.
Thank you for all that you do to support our women and men in uniform – I know they feel that what they do is appreciated.
I think I will hang my (our) LB in my study as part of my significant steps in military service display so that a conversation is indeed started and a story told.
Cheers

Good Morning Jan-Maree & Philomena H,
My family wanted to say a huge thank you for the beautiful quilt you have made for my husband. As you can see he was extremely touched by your letter and gifts and absolutely thrilled with your exquisite needlework.
He could not believe the memories of his life that has been captured on it. This is something he will treasure for the rest of his life. It will be coming with us especially for our getaways in our caravan, which was one of the pictures captured sitting around the campfire. One of his most favourite things to do. Thank you for capturing my husband in what will become his heirloom.
Thank you and we very much appreciate you and what you do for the Veterans.
With Love and Kind Wishes,

Good Afternoon Gayle W,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for my gorgeous quilt & laundry bag that you created for me whilst I was deployed.
I am terribly sorry that this email finds you so late. When I received the parcel I tucked your letter away for safe keeping to write to you at a later time. It turns out I tucked it away very well. Upon cleaning today I have found your letter.
I hope you remain well and once again, thank you for the lovely items you made for me.
Kind regards,
Until next week keep your letters, emails and photos coming in. Tuesdays would be so totally boring without them!
Cheers Bel P
