Hello Anne H,
Thank you so very much for the wonderful laundry bag. A bundle of bags arrived this week and this one jumped out at me. It’s such a wonderful touch and really made my day to know that there are such kind souls out there thinking of us all while we are away from our homes.
Thank you for your letter which is a lovely touch; being able to learn a bit about you and what led to you generously volunteering your time to such a worthy cause.
A bit about me – I am also a family man, with a wife and two teenage boys.
I have experienced a number of deployments in my time in the military and this is the most unique gift I have ever received. To get a glimpse into the story behind its creation is also a wonderful touch; especially the ability to personally thank the lovely volunteer who selflessly took their precious time to make this useful gift AND include a personalised letter.
Thank you so much once again and I hope this email finds you healthy and well.
Kind regards from a very appreciative recipient

Good morning Bridget R,
I received my laundry bag in the mail yesterday and I love it so much!
Thank you so much for the time and effort that was put into your craftsmanship! I loved the letter that was printed out too, it was very kind of you.
I am so glad you found a purpose for your sewing hobby and can continue to make more beautiful designs.
Thank you again,

Good Afternoon Anne H,
Thank you so much for the OP Beech laundry bag! It’s sincerely appreciated.
I’m glad you’ve had the opportunity to see a C-17 up close, they are definitely impressive pieces of machinery. It can be quite scary working at the top of the tail when there is a gust of wind. I was fortunate enough to work out of Hobart Airport to conduct missions to Antactica, that was a huge bucket list item for me to tick off, Antarctica was my last continent to visit.
By way of background, I am in the RAAF, having joined in 2002. Throughout my career, I have been posted to many different posts across Australia. I have worked across multiple aircraft platforms as well.
On a personal note, I am married with a four-year-old son, and we are expecting our second son next month, which is an exciting time for our family.
Again, thank you for the laundry bag.
Kind regards,

Good Morning Aussie Hero Quilts,
Thankyou for the laundry bag. It was a good surprise to see and we really appreciate it.

Hi Jacqui D (and Bruce),
I was happy to receive the laundry bag you made. I really like the design with the Australian Flags, animals and the iconic backyard BBQ image. This reminds me of many fond memories with my family back in Aus.
I’m currently deployed on an operation to the Middle East. The deployment is going well and we are now past the half way mark until we head home which is something to look forward too.
Thanks for the kind letter and laundry bag, it is much appreciated!
Cheers,

Dear Bridget,
I would personally like to thank you for your amazing efforts in the making of my Aussie Hero Quilt.
It truly means the world to me to be presented with one and how it captures my time in the Armyand the certain things that are near and dear to my heart.
So good to hear about yourself and your dedicated commitment to nursing and looking after others for40 years which is truly amazing and I thank you for your time in that demanding but rewarding career.
Time for you and your husband to retire and relax and enjoy the things you love and that shows with howamazing my Quilt has turned out.
Once again, I can’t thank you enough for your time and skills that you have put into making my Aussie Hero Quilt

Good morning Jan-Maree,
I am just reaching out to express my thanks to you for the lovely laundry bag I received whilst deployed. I was the lucky recipient of the meat pie laundry bag and I am over the moon with it.
Thank you very much for all you do and the support for all who are deployed.
Kind regards,
***
Hi Clarissa L,
I was so fortunate to receive the beautiful laundry bag you created for me!I received it when we got back from our deployment, and it was such a thoughtful gift to receive, and brought a big smile to my face.I am deploying again in a couple of months, and I know that this laundry bag will be put to great use, and be a source of joy while I’m away.
I also really appreciated your letter, and getting to know a little about yourself and your family.
I am more of an AFL fan than rugby, but did actually catch the Wallabies game against Ireland last weekend with my dad, which was great fun (although a bit of a disappointing ending!)I love the sound of your backyard; I grew up having chickens and always find it so peaceful watching them peck around the garden.
Thank you again for the time and effort you put into supporting myself and many other ADF members while deployed.
God Bless,

Hey Bridget R!
Just emailing to say a big thank you for my laundry bag and how awesome it turned out!
The story you provided about yourself gave me a little giggle!
A little about me is I have been in the Navy for 4 years now as a Medic! So I resonate with your nursing background! My grandmother (who was also a huge fan of knitting, sewing and crocheting),was an amazing woman who also had a very large nursing and midwifery background.
She meant a lot to me and the fact I have received this laundry bag from someone with a similar background has made this so much more special!
Again thank you very much! Your work has made me extremely happy and I thank you for your service as a nurse (the back bone of all healthcare)!
All the best Bridget!
Kind Regards and many thanks.

Hi Silva B,
You made me a laundry bag towards the end of last year. It’s finally reached me, although it’s taken quite the journey and passed through many hands along the way!
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate it. The laundry bag is absolutely awesome, and I’m genuinely grateful for the time and effort you put into making it.
Thank you as well for sharing your story with me. It makes the bag even more special, and I’ll be proud to use and cherish it throughout my future postings.
Many thanks again,
***
Cheers Catherine D
Until next week keep your letters, emails and photos coming in. Wednesdays would be so totally boring without them!
